First, I want to be clear that I am sorry that this happened to you and I am even more sorry that this is so stressful for you (because my pep talk/sermon may imply otherwise!).

Let's look at this only factually:
It happened.
It sucks.
You cannot make it not have happened.

SO!!! What if you looked at it a bit differently? Re-framed it?

It is said that if you are looking for a job it should become your full time job. It will take time.

Think about this-what did you do at that clinic? You spent your days following procedure, steps, filling out paperwork, charting, coding. That is what you are doing now. Except for 2 things. One, you were lovingly, patiently and thoughtfully doing it for others and now it matters all the more because you are doing it for you and your family.

Now the part-time thing. In all of our work I did not catch that you were part-time. Actually, that can work either way. It could be harder because companies want full time employees but looking at it differently, I have 4 friends who own businesses. They all want part-time, rather than full-time employees and you are exactly the type of person for whom they would be looking. I could give you the big list of reasons they like having part-time employees.

Think of the benefits. You were able to enjoy the holidays without worry about work. You will soon be getting "paid" for looking for work. You, after 25 years at one place, (I can preach this because you know that I have been with my corporation for over 25 years as well) are finally thinking about KAY. Your other post was refreshing. You are starting to look beyond what you have done for 25 years and think about what you might WANT to do. I can tell you that is something I rarely do. It is easier to come in here every day and do what I know how to do in an industry that I have learned well in my time here.

You have lived through, accomplished and triumphed through things WAY harder than this, girl! Please know that I remain here to help you in any way.
