Default Camera Advice--pleeze!

Some of you know that my daughter gave me an incredible camera for Christmas.
Canon Rebel T3. Well, it was just waaaay over my head. I have
only used a point and shoot in my lifetime. So, I finally have given up and
returned it to the store. Problem was, in the fully automatic mode, I just wasn't
getting the pics I had seen other people taking with Canon Rebel. I think you
really have to know how to use it in the "more complicated" mode to get great
pics. Anyway, I am now on the search for a new camera to replace my
Sony DSC-H10. It needs to be very user friendly and I just don't have the spare time
(or brain power) to learn a ton of new stuff. Must be a point and shoot with great pics.
Also, not so tiny that I can't hold on to it.
Any suggestions?

***UPDATE 1/19/2012*** I am staying with the Rebel T3--but there has been some
great feedback; so, be sure to read thru the thread. thanks everybody

I have the Panasonic Lumix LX5. It is a point and shoot camera, so it is easy to use but the result is so great.

oh no what happened!!! i thought ur pics were comin out great! u had the focus rite and everythin. although when u use a dslr ur not supposed to be usin it on the auto mode..that makes it nod different from a point and shoot cept its more expensive. usually people us the sv or av mode or manual if u know what ur doin. u cant become a professional in only a couple weeks, it takes months to know what ur really doin hehe. what a shame panasonic does take nice pics tho in point and shoot. they actually had one for sale online for $90 for the lumix one

I have a professional camera for my work, but for around the house, I use a Kodak Easy Share Z1485 IS. The IS means image stabiliation, you wont get blurry picutes because the camera was shaking or moving. I love it. And with the cd that comes with it, I can make my own siggys and calendars and stuff

I have the Nikon Coolpix P80. It takes a decent picture and has a 18X zoom, it is a good all around point and shoot. I wish I had a DSLR camera mainly because I would like to have a good zoom lens. I hope you find a camera you enjoy...If you don't care for the camera, you won't take pictures. I also thought your pictures were very good, you were able to capture so much more detail, even on automatic settings.

The P500 is a really good camera. It has a 36X zoom and allows for HD recording! I think you are going to like it, and it's a point and shoot
so it shouldn't be too overwhelming.
