Haha awww... I think the reason they have that rep is sadly because there are so many; and lots that come from less than reputable homes.

That is so cool that you got to see Cesar, though!! I went to one of his shows a few years ago and it was awesome. The one thing that struck me as hilarious is when he first appeared on stage, he asked the host "Is this chair for me?" and then proceeded to lift his leg to "mark" it. The whole audience erupted in laughter!! =D

Chi behavioral problems can often be attributed to owners that view them as accessories. They don't treat them like dogs. These little Napoleon like creatures get drunk on power. A chi is like any other dog: they need training, mental stimulation, exercise, and discipline.

Other times, it's because of poor breeding which is, unfortunately, all too common.

To be honest I've seen a few of aggressive chihuahuas, but then again I've also seen aggressive malteses, aggressive parrots, aggressive people! LOL!

I think Cesar Millan is awesome, I would love to go to one of his shows.
I agree that chihuahuas are treated like accessories by some people *cough* PARIS HILTON *cough cough*
I treat mine just the same as I treat my big dog and she is a sweetheart, a lot of chi's I come across are

He showed video of the attack after to show the difference between an excited dog threatening and a fully aggressive dog going from 0 to 10 in an instant with no warning signs. It was insane. Cesar was simply standing beside the dog when he first met it, letting the dog come to him sort of thing and the dog just turned its head and latched on to his arm, and wouldn't let go. He said that usually when a dog bites, pushing into their mouth instead of trying to rip your body away will cause them to let go, but it didn't work with this dog. Just goes to show that breed really doesn't matter in terms of being aggressive, no matter how "family friendly" people say they are.

It was so good! I didn't expect him to be so funny. He was doing impressions of the average North American walking their dog with the leash wrapped around their hand three times and holding onto a tree for support when another dog comes by. Too funny. This whole seminar was all about reconnecting with nature and treating dogs like dogs. It was nice to be reminded about simple things you can do to gain respect from your dog and improve your relationship!

That sounds like it was a lot of fun!! I didn't expect the sense of humor either; he makes jokes on his show sometimes but in "person" he's so much more animated! The seminar I saw him at was just a question/answer thing from the audience but still really informative. They didn't allow pictures, but by golly somewhere I have a tiny cell phone shot of him very very far away LOL.
