Sorry I haven't been around much. We got hit pretty hard by Hurricane Sandy. When we first evacuated, we wore our welcome out very quickly and had to move again (I have 6 dogs!!) I got someone to take Mona Lisa for a few months and someone to take Moma Mia. We stayed at another home for a few nights and then finally came back home. We had no electric or gas - it was pretty rough. Slowly things are coming back together. the gas and electric is on now, we got our new fireplace gas logs installed, got a new hot water heater installed....although there is a problem with the electric, so no hot water yet The girl that took Mona Lisa broke her foot, so she's back home again,. We are under demo now and reconstruction might be able to start in a week or so. We are living upstairs in the bedroom.

Here's my beautiful front yard...and it's been cleared once by the town already!!




Before we left, we put the sofa up on top of the coffee table, but the sofa still was in about a foot of water - about 30 inches total in that room.

The kids aren't real happy about living upstairs, but we're all safe and warm and together.

Oh wow sorry to hear that.. I could imagine it would be hard with 6 dogs to find someone to take you in. Hope the rebuilding goes smoothly.

I am so sorry. I completely understand. I am a Floridian born and raised and once went over three weeks without power. I can only imagine what it would have been like if it had been so cold too.
