Happy National Adoption Month to any adoptive families on this forum ! My husband and I have been blessed with two wonderful children through adoption. We adopted our oldest through foster care at age 5, and our youngest at birth. Both have numerous special challenges, both medical and developmental, so I chose to "retire" from nursing to focus on their needs. Being a full-time Mom to our two amazing kiddos is such a dream come true! I am SO thankful to God, and to our childrens' birthfamilies, for blessing us with these two precious souls!

My dogs are my heart!

I'm so excited every time I hear of someone else who recognizes the blessings of adoption. I've wanted to be an adoptive parent since I was very young (somewhere around kindergarten, when I learned what adoption was). As soon as I am more financially stable and have a larger apartment, I will be becoming a foster parent. I would love to adopt from China, though I do not wish to wait until I am married and over the age of 30 to begin my adoption journey. It seems domestic adoption may be my best option, but we shall see! Happy national adoption month

children through your words. I can not have children, and plan on fostering
and eventually adopting. Like LaceyGirl I wanted to do this since a young age.

It is so exciting to see this post! My hubby and I have been trying to get pregnant for two years, no luck. I used to work in an orphanage in China and since then have wanted to adopt whether I could have biological children or not. I would also love to adopt from china... Maybe some day... But for now I am counting the days until I turn 25 so we can start the adoption process, domestically. I was diagnosed with PCOS in 2008 so we doubt we will ever have biologically babies but I am excited to start the adoption process!

People like all of you have a special place in Heaven.

My husband and I decided, when we were still just dating, that we wanted to adopt at least one child, regardless of whether we were able to have biological children or not. There is such a huge need for foster parents, so it is wonderful to hear that you plan on fostering someday.
