I too love the holidays this is my first year that Im making something to bring to thanksgiving Im kinda excited about it My sons bday falls on thanksgiving this year so we will be celebrating that as well on thursday.

We will be eating
ham
turkey
roast with gravy
grandmas baked beans ( my grandma always made them)
brocolli cheese casserole
green bean casserole (Im making it)
sweet potato casserole
collard greens
mac & cheese
stuffing
red velvet cake (my sons bday cake he requested Im making ))
pumpkin pie (Im making)
pumpkin spice cheesecake ( Im making)
sweet potato pie (me again)
blueberry cake

all this food for 11-14 people crazy isnt it

So what is green bean casserole? i'm guessing something different than the English version of a casserole. And you guys have macaroni cheese as a side dish with a roast? We eat it as a meal over here.
If you have turkey at thanksgiving do you have something different for Christmas?

Green bean casserole in my house is green beans, cream of mushroom soup, and crispy onions baked. Super easy and delicious. For thanksgiving, it's usually just my immediate family (parents, grandma, me and sister) and we have turkey. For Christmas we have way more people- extended family and friends- so we have a turkey and a ham.

Mac and cheese can be a side dish or a main meal here.

Green bean casserole:

2 cans of shredded green beans, drained
1 can of cream of mushroom soup
I add about 1/2 cup milk
1/2 large can of French fried onions
Salt, pepper, onion salt to taste.
Stir all together, add the rest of the French fried onions to the top.
Bake till bubbly on 350

Macaroni & cheese is mostly a side dish here.

For Christmas I either do a Ham, or something totally different. Usually Italian.
