I love this thread as well! It's so interesting to hear what everyone does! I am a registered nurse. I work on a Med-Surg floor. So, basically we get a little of everything. I might have one patient with a heart problem and one with a lung problem and another with a kidney problem. Every day is very different!
I'm sorry LS I guess I think you are so fun and facinating you surely have an interesting tidbit to share about yourself that we don't know to kick off a thread. I'm really boring, but I'll see if I can rack my brain and come up with something.

Growing up the only thing that I can remember ever wanting to be was a teacher. I always wanted to work with small children. I started working in a preschool my last year of high school and I loved it.
I started teaching the 2-3 year old class after I graduated high school. I loved my job. I knew I was making a difference in children's lives by helping them learn. I did not know how big of a difference I could make until we accepted a child who's parents were low income (the preschool I worked at usually only took children with professional parents.) This particular child was 3 years old and did not speak a word at the preschool for 3 months but I kept working with him anytime I could. I walked into work one day and walked into the office and heard a voice that I had never heard saying, "Ammmmmmmmmmmy." I walked out of the office to see who it was and the entire room was silent looking at this little boy. I asked what was going on and the director of the preschool told me Jonathon had just called for me. I started crying because my name was the first thing we had heard him say and when he saw me crying he came up to me and gave me a hug. I felt so bad because the shoes he was wearing every day was 2 sizes too big and it was making him walk on his toes to keep the shoes on his feet. I went out and bought him 2 pair of shoes and a bunch of clothes and I fibbed to his mom and told her it was things that I bought for my nephew that wouldn't fit him and asked if it was okay for me to give them to her (I didn't want her to embarrass her.)
I was enrolled to start college to become a teacher in 1994 but I was forced to quit to be able to help my mom with the bills after my dad passed away.
I had to quit my job at the preschool because the pay was very small that Mom and I couldn't make ends meat.
I went to work for Wal Mart where I worked until I ruptured my L4/L5 discs by lifting a swingset for a customer.
It has taken me several years to get my pain under control but after I did I started school again but now I am going to school to work in Medical Reimbursement Technology (I graduate next fall.) I learned through all my medical problems how important medical office staff is to patients. I graduated with my certification in Medical Office Assistant last term and I am hoping to be able to find a job soon and continue to go to school.
