If you girls haven't noticed I'm quite bored today so Im thinking up new threads!
I was wondering if any of you have tattoos and if so what do you have. I have 4. I've got a peacock on my shoulder, a butterfly with cherry blossoms down my side, a purple rose with twiny bits round my thigh with some Latin script and a Japanese kanji symbol for "grandmother" on my wrist with 2 little blue hearts, one for each grandson.
I do not have any tatoos at all, I am not a fan of drawing things on my body I can't wash off eventually. Plus I don't think I will enjoy them anymore when I am 80 and my skin will not be elastic anymore.
I do like tatoos on other people though, mostly the ones that have special meaning to the person and especially if they are done by someone who knew what they were doing.
Well I'm a silly cow, I will worry what I look like at 80 when I get there! Lol. They were all thought about very carefully. All of mine except the one on my wrist are covered so most people don't even know I have them. I went through a funny stage a couple of years ago, I lost 7 stone and I have all the associated horrible wobbly bits/stretch marks/loose skin that comes along with weight loss so they do make me feel a bit better about myself. I know they can offend a lot of people so I do mainly keep em under wraps! My husband hates the one on my wrist probably because that's the one that gets seen. All of them have meaning, the peacock was for my 40th birthday, the butterfly was for losing the weight (new beginning), the rose is for my husband as it has his name over it and the Latin phrase for "love of my life" (strangely enough he doesn't mind that one!) and obviously the grandmother symbol was added when my 2 grandsons were born.
I have 7 my dad and brother are both tattooists otherwise I think I'd probally have less as I don't have to pay! Haha I have a butterfly on top of my back a butterfly on bottom of my back, the words 'Never Look Back' on my ribs, flowers up side of my arm, flowers on my foot, a peace sign on my ankle and more writing on my thigh! They are all small though
Cor, your dad and brother are tattooists? You lucky thing!! That's awesome!! Perhaps it's just as well I don't have any in the family or I think I would be covered.
