I agree that finding an outlet for anxious energy is a good idea. I've struggled with anxiety and depression my whole life. Nothing really helped until I got Toby. I was able to channel all my anxiety into energy to train, mentally stimulate and exercise him. I've done loads better ever since.
Have you ever considered seeing a psychologist? I saw one regularly as a teen and it helped me immensely. Not a permanent thing, just a way to learn about your triggers and coping mechanisms.
