When I went, on my birthday, to a local shelter to adopt Chica (Surprise, Hubby! Dog #3! Happy Birthday to me!) I was originally leaning towards the name Beka (which means beautiful)...but after bringing her home and having a family meeting about her name, we all agreed on Chica. I think it fits her better than Beka anyway. Not that our girl isn't beautiful (photogenic--not so much, but beautiful--definitely) , but she's a sassy little thing, so Chica fits her well.

Baby-love came about because we could not agree on a name for her she was going to be Dior or Minnie but they weren't sticking in the mean time I was calling her Baby-Love and then it just stayed.

Ninja was originally named Audi as in the car by my ex but I didn't like it so I changed it to Ninja he's soooo hyper always running around and he walks on his hind legs he can go around the whole house on just the 2 back legs lol also he always karate chops his front paws when he's hyper. So ninjas

Prada was named by my ex

Beau was named when Baby-Love had puppies I gave the 3 of them B names since baby has a b name we had Bailey, Bambi and Beau I never intended on keeping any until Beau turned out to be so tiny and had a seizure at 7 weeks I couldn't adopt him out. Thankfully he's never had a seizure since but he's still tiny my ex still has him and calls him Brembo but I call him Beau still and he responds to that.

Max's original name was Tumble but when we first met him we both just felt he was more of a Max. We tried changing his name and he had no trouble getting used to it so it stuck. I think the name Max suits his cheeky personality more than Tumble did!

My husband and I had a hard time agreeing on a name. We started throwing out names and Tiki is the one we both loved. And honestly once we brought her home it seemed to fit her so well!

Leo our puggle was named because he is a Leo and so is my hubby. My husband has a tattoo of a Leo on the side of his calf.

We named Miro after one of my favorite painter/ sculptors, Joan Miro. His personality, and art were very happy and upbeat. It's a great fit for our little dreamer. It was that or Eames, after Charles and Ray Eames, but Miro was a better fit. (Joan Miro's Dog Barking at the Moon.)

Barney was named by my daughter after her all time favorite tv character Barney Stinson.
