I had a dream (vision) one night about three years ago. I was told I was going to get a Chi and her name was going to be "Pearl". When hubby and I went puppy shopping, we came across this certain pup. She was not all white as I had envisioned; she was white with the huge perfectly round brown spot on her back. She was a registered Chi but was last in her litter, unwanted. Her standards were way off for show quality. She was too long, had an underbite, she was pigeon toed....just perfect for us! Later we found out her registered would be Estepps Chocolate Covered PEARL! So indeed she was the Pearl I was to get!
Edie is named after a character in a video game called Mass Effect 3. Plus it sounded like a good name - I'm really picky about naming things for some reason (I've even written a list of rules, how sad is that!).
BG- Burgundy Gold Redskin Colors as she came home from their stadium.
Sonny- For Redskins QB Sonny Jurgeson (and he has a Sunny personality)

Nala- acts like a queen but came to me with that name
Sadie- Came to me with that name
Huly-Only has one eye but did not want a pirate name so his real name is Chihuly after the famous glass blower Dale Chihuly that only has one eye. Huly is the short version
Gibbs- My foster failure! 5 month old pup first day at my house running around chasing my cats like a typical puppy until he came to a streaking halt in front of our TV to watch the entire Joe Gibbs (Redskins HOF Coach press conf. ) Hubby looked at him and said I think your name is Gibbs and he jumped on the couch and started kissing him. I knew at that moment that dog was never leaving my house. There is a weird connection between Coach Gibbs and Gibbs the dog. At a Redskin event my crazy hound would be acting like a fool, sticking his tongue out, rolling in the dirt, drooling etc. The minute Coach Gibbs would step out My hound would freeze sitting down. No drool no nothing and Coach would ignore the people and come straight for the dog and the dog's head would be as far back as possible staring lovingly into Coach Gibbs eyes. I have photo proof LOL. To this day when I run into Coach Gibbs (he retired) the first thing he asks me about is Gibbs and how is his dog doing.
My little guy's name is Ike, after my father After my Dad died, I had told my husband if we ever have another baby boy, he will be named after my Dad, well that never happened. We got Ike a few months ago, and he is our baby boy, so Ike is the name.
Pippi -
When I rescued Pip she was called Poppy but thats such a common name I really didnt want to keep it... Plus it was a new start for her, so a new name seemed fitting. When I got home from getting her all the bits she needed. I put on the TV and "Pippi Longstocking" film was on... And it just fit. So Pippi was named Pippi.
Maisie -
Maisies KC name is Texans Dainty Maisie (at Stormchi) so she was really named for me by her breeder. Plus it suits her.
Shelby -
Shelby is named after Idina Menzel (a singer/actress)... Idina played a character named Shelby Corcoran on Glee... So Shelby was named very easily after my favorite singer.
