Wow, happy the child is okay, we had a hawk in FL that grabbed a little boy by his head, he uncle saved him, but he had to get a lot of stitches. People tease me because I won't let my dogs outside with us, they have no idea what can happen.

We had a hawk pick up a 30lb basset mix at one of our foster homes. Luckily the hound weighed too much and dropped the hound after a few seconds and we took him to the Vet. He only had puncture woulnds thankfully but this is a fear of mine.

Golden Eagles sometimes use a hunting technique where they purposefully pick up something that they cannot carry for very long and drop it to kill it. They are incredibly strong, resourceful and powerful animals. When I worked at a wildlife park, I couldn't even hold the golden there because my arm wasn't strong enough. They are crazy!

Krystal, just reading the title of the clip you posted made me sad, I'm not watching.

Interesting fact though, thanks for sharing.

Yes, the title describes what happens in the video perfectly. It's a hard life out there in the wild! Just wanted to share because I wonder sometimes if these eagles that pick up dogs are dropping them for the same reason, and we're interpreting it as the prey being too heavy.

This is a BC local eagle story that starts sad but ends great!: Poodle survives drop

They were able to raise enough funds for her surgeries and had so many adoption applications that they stopped accepting them! Update on Miracle May
