Sorry that happened to him and the boys! We've had a couple of pedestrian deaths here recently, and I believe that one of them was the driver not paying attention. I do NOT use my phone while I'm driving. It's easy enough to pull over, or to get your passenger to phone someone for you.
I almost hit a little boy the other day on my way home from work. It was dark and the side of the crosswalk was blocked by a car and the little boy (dressed in all black) ran out in front of my car and I actually had to swerve to avoid hitting him. His Mom was on the other side of the crosswalk. I wanted to stop and yell at her.

Thank goodness everyone is ok. My best friend was hit by a car and killed. The driver was drunk, hit him kept going, and dragged him along. Needless to say it was gruesome. I tell my daughter to be on the defense and on her guard while driving all the time.

Oh LS, I'm so sorry hubby and boys had to go through that! It's so scary walking, riding bikes, rollerblading, ect anymore bc everyone is always on their phone or just not paying attention. I am so glad they didn't get hurt, they had an angel watching over them! Poor guys! ;(

I'm so glad that your hubby and the boys are ok. It makes me mad that people don't pay attention while driving.

It was so scary. Afterwards I couldn't believe that it happened, and I was so glad that I was able to swerve. Had I been not paying attention, I have no doubt in my mind that I would have hit him. Unfortunately there was nowhere to pull over and I couldn't see what happened because it was so dark. I really hope that the Mom realized that she needs to teach her son how to wait for traffic to stop. Couldn't believe she crossed without him. Nightmare!

I think it should be mandatory for every driver to have one of those thingd that you plug into you ciggerette litter and you can talk on your phone over the speakers in your car at least that way you still have your eyes on the road. the ones that get me are the ones that are texting and driving the cause of 75 percent of the accidents. Some people are so stupid. I'm so glad that the dogs and hubby are home safe & sound give them all a extra hug and thank the Good Lord they are still here.
