Hubby just got home from walking Rocky & Benji. While they were crossing the
street, they almost got run over. The first car let hubby and the pups cross, but
the guy behind that car was not paying attention. The guy was driving while on
his cell phone, he was not looking where he was going, he went to turn the
corner and came at them fast(right behind), and barely had enough time to break,
during that time within the last couple of seconds hubby saw him coming(after
his shoes got covered in snow/slush from the driver breaking) and yanked the
boys by the leashes so they end up out of harm's way, the bumper of the
driver's car ended up one inch away from Benji's butt. He nearly killed the dogs
and seriously injured my hubby. Hubby came home shaking in anger. We both
lost friends in car accidents in the past, but he says he wasn't scared for
himself, all he thought about was the dogs. And if he didn't yank those leashes,
who knows. He said he was so furious he wanted to yank the guy out of the
car by his hair. The driver on the other side could care less and simply drove
off, hubby said this guy barely even glanced at him and the dogs to see if they were ok.

Oh wow LS! I am glad that your hubby and the pups are okay! It seems like people on the road get worse and worse all the time. It drives me nuts when I see someone talking on the cell phone and driving with their phone in their hand.

Just a year ago, when we lived at our old apartment, our neighbor(an old man
in his 80s) got hit by a truck while crossing the street. He died. This happened
because the driver was not paying attention. Disgusting.

Wow!! You always have to be on the defensive today!! People just are crazy & always in a big rush. I'm so glad he & the pups are alright!! Give him & the pups plenty of kisses.

Me too Lisa. I didn't see it, I was at home with the girls, but seeing how much it
affected hubby upset me too. I can't even fathom the thought of losing him or
the pups. I wish people would stop talking on their phones while driving.

You know the crazy thing is hubby is super careful when crossing, always, he's
not an idiot. So this goes to show you just never know what can happen, even
if you are careful.
