Douglas has been pooping inside more often.

If my obnoxious stepmom says "Dere's a dug poop" in her obnoxious voice one more time I am going to shoot her.

I make sure to let him out often, he knows not to potty in the house and I watch him all the time. He will wander upstairs to the kitchen when others are eating and I watch him go around the corner and appear in the kitchen. How he gets to the living room and poops in that time I will never know. He is praised every time he potties outside.

I don't know what to do but I am ready to shoot this dog. I am very sick (in and out of hospital lately) and in pain and I already feel like killing something, yay mental illness, so this just isn't working. My mom yells all the time even though we live separate and I hate my stepmom and my dad is a jerk whenever stepmom is around so this just isn't working.

If I cant get the dog under control he's not going to get to stay I'm afraid. Or it will be taken out on me.

Help.

Is he pooping in the same area every time? Could you try blocking it off with a small gate (or anything really) so he can't sneak in there when you're not looking?

There's no way to block it. He poops in one of two areas. Either in our office or in the living room by the christmas tree.

The office is pretty rare but he pretends to say hi to people and somehow poops without being noticed. I attribute this to my stepmom being an idiot.

He sneaks. I swear he does and then he slinks back to me and I know he did something bad although I often can't figure out what until later.

I wouldn't have such an issue with it (it wouldn't be so urgent) if I didn't have to deal with the people I live with.

Is he doing it at a particular time of day? Is it only when others are eating in the kitchen? Can you perhaps crate him during those times?

I would tether him to you (with a long lead) until he is 100% reliable. He can NEVER be out of your sight, even for a second, and this is the best way to accomplish that goal. Also, have you attempted crate training, so he can go in there while you're eating, showering, etc.? Were you dad and stepmom on board with you getting Douglas?

He just somehow manages to do it. Like a ghost. He is with me when I eat, shower, and use the bathroom. He sleeps in my bed.

Dad was on board and I don't talk to my stepmom. Ever. She acts like a child, barely speaks english, and is just all around the most irritating thing to ever walk the earth.

I have tethered him to me and then we NEVER have a problem. He only does it sneakily. I can't have him attached to me for the rest of his life, he already barely leaves my sight and when he does it's generally because he rounded the corner first and I am walking slowly.

Is there maybe a deterrent I could spray or something?

It seriously seems premeditated. Like, "Mom is stuck in that blanket and it hurts her to move. If I run I can poo under the chair before she makes it up the stairs."

Sometimes I even carry him if I am trying to get him outside and think he has to go. I always watch him when out to be sure he either poops or pees and if he continues to sniff after going he stays out until he goes again.

Lately at his "pooping times" (he often poos the second time he is put out but not always and sometimes its impossible to predict) he will go out, pee, then rush to the door, like "oh I don't need to." So I let him in and a while later back out. He usually poops.

The real trouble is like today I let him out and watched him poop. He should NOT be doing it in the house, definitely at least not until later around his dinner time, and he did it anyway. This has happened before and I just can't place it.

Today he seems to have an upset tummy but other times when he is okay this is still an issue.

How old is he? Is he neutered?

Neutered, and will be two in march I believe. He is a rescue we believe has a history of abuse. There have been some fear urinating occurrences, which I understand and although annoying are just going to improve with time.

Also, he will whimper when he needs to go outside and no one has taken him, so he does know very well where the potties go.
