Default Costochonditis-ouch!

Has anybody ever had this? If so, any suggestions to relieve the pain? I have taken Tylenol. I know Ibuprophen would be better but it makes my tongue break out in blisters....

I can't help you much, but are you able to take naproxen?

I don't get as bad a reaction from the naproxen so I may just have to resort to that. I am trying a heat pad now...maybe that will work. Thanks for the suggestion. It isn't serious, just seriously painful!

Ouch, a heating pad might give you some relief. Hope it goes away soon.

Sorry to hear you are dealing with the pain of costochondritis. I have had it several times over the last 6 years after fracturing a rib. I would suggest a heating pad, Rx pain meds if the pain gets too severe and...something tgat seemed to help me was to apply a little pressure using the opposite arm, especially when trying to stand up. My doctor woukd also give me Prednisone to help reduce the inflammation. Good luck and hope you feel better soon.

So sorry! Do you have one of the pads that is filled with material that can be rice, sand like stuff, buckwheat, or other such material. It gets heavy, so that the compression would help? You heat it in the microwave. Have to be careful, not too hot.
