Walmart has a cheaper brand also. But here is what happened in our house.
We trained Tinky-Winky first with the 4-paws brand and I never paid any attention to the cost because she was "Judy's dog." I was not a dog-person at the time.
Then I got Riley. I took a week of vacation time from work the first week he was home so I could get him trained quickly. Tink came home on a Sunday and we went to work on Monday. She took a long time. By the end of the week Riley was hitting the mark 90% of the time. Success. Well I was in Walmart and saw these cheap Walmart brand. Real cheap. I bought a package and started to use them. They were white with a light pale yellow border. The 4-paws brand have a bright blue border. All of a sudden Riley is pooping and peeing all over the place. It took me three days to figure it out. We went back to the 4-paws brand with the blue border and maybe a different smell too and within a couple of days Riley was back on track. Riley is only 15 wks old and does a good job of hitting the mark. When he does we give he a treat and praise him and laugh and have fun. When he goes somewhere else he gets Dad's frowny face and no treat......
