That's an important thought, and one on which Ruth and I have different opinions. I prefer from Simcha to run around the house naked. But, a trainer we have worked with believes that a dog should wear some sort of a collar 24/7, with a name tag attached. Her feeling is that if the dog should ever slip out, the collar with the tag gives the finder a way of calling you immediately. Simcha is, of course, microchipped. I suppose it's a matter of opinion, but are other CP folks worried about having a 'naked' dog?

Toby is naked in the house (excluding his preference for clothing). I live alone, so I always know when the door is going to be opened for any reason. If there is any chance Toby could get out (opening the door for any reason) he is either in the bathroom or has his collar on. When I am not home he is always naked too because I fear him chocking or getting stuck on something or eating his collar.

Both of mine wear a collar with a name tag and rabies tag all the time, because crackers likes to slip out and by law here even if they are in my yard they have to have proof of rabies.

Jaxx is naked inside besides clothes.

Jaxx doesn't ever go near the door and hopefully he never will. He has never been allowed to walk outside on his own. We put his harness and collar on him and then carry him outside the door. He doesn't seem to associate the door with him being allowed near it.

My dog never wears a collar. She goes out with a harness with the tags on that so at home she's naked. I know she would never run away haha. She doesn't like being outside without a family member and even if the door is wide open she doesn't go out. She's been out without a leash plently of times and she just follows at our ankles.
