Star has been on half zp and raw (chicken, beef, pork, and lamb). She stopped eating Acana kibble a long time ago and she refused to eat NV raw after a while.
Today I decided to try to feed prey model raw. I hate driving all the way into downtown just to get ZP for $40. I just hope she would still like zp whenever we travel. Will start this diet after ZP is mostly gone.

counted 26 necks

chicken liver: $2.70 @ 1.59/lb
about 28 servings

beef kidney: $3.33 @ 1.39/lb
about 31 servings

beef: $7.58 @ 3.99 lb
(havent divided it up yet)

total with tax: $21 something

Doing my cost calculations...hope it's right, bad at math and kids are a distraction.

$0.34 zp per meal ($40 bag at local store) lasted about 4 months with any raw for each dinner. Eats 30 to 35 pcs per meal....or .3 oz per meal

Calculated from what I bought....eating about .5 oz for her weight according to the raw calculator:

$0.16 for each chicken neck
$0.10 chicken liver meal
$0.11 beef kidney meal
$0.12 beef meal

Last night gave Star a Cornish hen leg. She just licked it until I smash it and cut the skin.

Bought some chicken gizzards and hearts today...wow what a lack of hearts (3)

$1.61 made 13 gizzard meals and one heart meal.

$0.12 per meal

Didn't like chicken gizzards too much yesterday. She even spit some out when it was mixed with the Cornish hen. She started to refuse to eat beef rib meat, but still eats other kinds of beef. Loved the chicken hearts for lunch. Tonight I'm going to try a chicken neck.

Wonder if my hubby ruined her diet during the holidays made her into a pickier dog?
