i had been wanting a chi for the past 1.5 yrs but i still live at home and since we already have a cat and a bunny mum wasn't so sure it was the right move. anyway since she saw me really prepared to get one and take care of her she relented. i went to see puppies from a pet shop and a breeder last saturday. the petshop's weren't kept in a gd condition at all so i opted for the breeder's. since they were ready to leave their mum i took the one i chose home with me and since it was late afternoon i made an apt with the vet to take her for vaccination etc on monday morning. she was such a cutie, i called her tina

on sunday she was really quiet and drank only water but we thought she was missing her mum. then we left her in her cot at around 11pm and when mum went to check on her at around 4am she found her with diarrhea and extremely cold on the tiles. we thought she was dead but then she whimpered. her eyes were shut and her mouth firmly closed and she was freezing. we quickly wrapped her up and contacted the vet and we were there some time before 5am. unfortunately she had PARVO

he suggested we put her to slp cause he said she'll die within the next 2 hrs but i wanted to take a chance to save her. so he gave her the drip and an antibiotic and pain killer (injected). her body temp was only 33 degrees instead of 39. to cut it short she remained alive after 2 hrs and looked rlly better. i took her again for more injections and she even tried drinking on her own. but by 6 pm she was getting worse again. so i took her again around 7pm and he gave her another drip to sustain her through the night. he gave me eye drops too cause i noticed her eyes were completely dry. she ended up dead by midnight poor little swty.
the breeder offfered to give me her sister, but the vet said it was not such a gd idea since my house could still be contaminated aND she had probably got the virus from the breeder. and i dont want the new puppy to die, also im still mourning my first puppy
thus i think i will wait till the weather cools down (it is always above 35degrees here) and the vet said that this is the best time for the virus to multiplicate. and i'm going to get her either from a breeder i know who vaccinates them beforehand or the vet said that if knows a gd breeder with pups he'll tell me about him.
it's such a sad thing this dying business. i couldn't eat or slp because of her and she was only here 2 days. i hope i have better luck with my next chi cause it was really hard to lose her after wanting her so much and holding her
