Hello, I'm a new Chi mom in Florida
Three weeks ago we answered an ad in the local paper. Went to see these little pups and fell in love with one of them. He was so quiet that my hubby said, 'this is the one'. We brought him home to be a little brother to our 5 year old peke 'Shanghai'. Chico is a little terror. He won't leave his big brother alone. Poor Shanghai has no where to hide.
Chico is doing fine adjusting to our home. He finds all the nooks and crannies that we didn't think he would get into. I have some searching to do on this forum because he has some dry, brown patches on his back and hind legs. The vet says it's probably a food alergy, but gave us medication in case of skin infection - CEPHALEXIN SUSP 250MG. We gave him 0.2 mg for one week. There is no difference in his skin or coat. He lost a quarter size patch of hair where his soft spot is, and has numerous lt. brown patches of skin and dry flaky on body. He goes back to vet next week for final shots, so we will see what the vet says than. No skin scrapings were taken. We may have to find another vet.
