Smile Hello Newbie here. Alycia & Cooper

Hello I just signed up today for the chihuahua forum. It's been a while since I had a chihuahua baby can someone give me advice on pad training my baby chi. Sometimes he does ok and sometimes he has accidents, or he will completely miss the pad. I've had him 2 weeks.

Hello and welcome. The best advice I can give is keep putting him on the pad and say "go potty" every time you put him on it. And don't give free run of the house. Pehaps keep hum in a doggy play pen with water, bed, toys, and pad. And try crate training when you are away from the home. Dogs naturally do not want to potty where they ly down. So a smeall crate is a good idea for short amounts of time. However, chi puppies bladders are itsy bitsy and so they can't hold it long. They need to potty very often so leaving him in a crate for too long will have the reverse effect and he'll begin peeing in there.

Hello. I set myself a time and take them out every hour or so. I read online when I got Quinn that they can hold it for an hour for every month old they are.

Hello and welcome
My Daisy was like yours, sometimes getting it but missing other times. We started rewarding her when she went on her pad, just a tiny bit of a treat (that can be broken into tiny bits) and now she uses her pad all the time I used to be cleaning the carpet daily, but now the carpet cleaner hardly ever comes out.
