Hi to all!!
the reason ive joined this forum is that im about to adopt a chi pup (about 8 months) from my in-laws. And i know that i will need lots of advice regarding this specific breed. And for my first question, will it be a bit hard to train at this age? Coz everywhere i go people says we have to start very early for training a chihuahua. Thank you.
Absolutely not, old dogs CAN learn new tricks, and your dog is technically still a
pup, which means you should have even greater success training him. Of course
it's best to start as early as possible, but it does not mean it is impossible after
a certain age. Chihuahuas are a very intelligent breed, extremely eager to please
their human, which makes training with positive reinforcement easier in my
opinion. Any questions you have, regarding anything at all, please feel free to
ask. This forum is educational and fun. I hope you enjoy your time here, and
congrats on your new addition! Please post pictures once he arrives home.
Welcome to the forum. Chi's are really smart, and you will get lots of info on this forum. No question is too silly. A baby playpen (doggie style) is just great for confining the dog until he is really trustworthy in the house. Google plastic puppy playpens.
My mom was born in Nani Tal. Where are you from in India?
@susan davis thanks googl-ing right away... . Im from Mizoram, the north eastern part of India. Nainital is really a nice place, you should visit sometime...
