We just found an abandoned Chihuahua. The owner was in my mom's apartment she owns. She moved out a left the dog. My mom didn't even know she had a dog. The dog is now part of the Buddy Rescue and we are fostering her. She doesn't have a name yet but we are trying out Jenna. Jenna is all tan with a small white stripe on her nose. She isn't fixed yet. She isn't potty trained, but she is a young adult. If any one has name ideas or tips for potty training please tell me. She also sometimes growls at people and hides behind me. If you got tips on fixing this too pease share.

She is a cutie, I hope you find a good home.

She is adorable! I don't see how anyone could abandon that baby! Although I don't see how anyone can abandon any dog.

Hopefully the growling and hiding behind you is just she is scared because we don't know what she has been through. I would definitely say she probably needs socialization with lots of praise. I would try having different people give her treats. Don't force the people on her just have them get down to her level and have a treat and let her decide to come to them. Hopefully after she gets used to being around people and realizing that she gets treats with new people the unwanted behavior will stop.

Thanks for the tips. This dog is sooooo sweet. I can't figure out why she was abandoned either. She has poo'd on the floor and she is in heat. I think she is pretty young because she falls asleep like a puppy does and she loves to play. Having people give her treats prevents her growing at them every time! She wants to be a good girl. I think she just loves me so much that she feel like she needs to protect me. She follows me every where I go. I have had her for only three days and she has learned "potty"- she goes to the door when I say it, "sit", "come", and "treat."

Today I left the treat bag on the floor. She picked the empty bag up, brought it to me and then sat down!!!! OMG, I love this dog!!!!!
