I just rescued my first chi last month, a red male by the name of Douglas. I keep a lot of animals, from rats and mice to a pair of ferrets, whom are Douglas' partners in crime. I feed my ferrets raw and am thinking about switching Douglas also. My other dog is too large for raw right now and doesn't live with me but I'm sure a chi would eat the same as a ferret.
Anyway, hello, and hopefully I can learn some about agility and obedience with chihuahuas.

He was a stray. I got him from the pound. He was underweight and is weird around older men. My close male friend, however, is one of his favorite people. No clue what to think about that. My current guess on his story is he lived with a family or couple and belonged to a woman. The man of the house probably disliked him and was mean to him and eventually dumped him where he could never find his way home. This dog would never run away on purpose so he had to have been dumped.
I rescue all the time, my house is full of rescued creatures. I even do wild animals like squirrels (especially sick orphans).
I think Douglas would do well in obedience or agility. I am going to do a basic class with him to get him used to working around other dogs and strange people/loud noises, then maybe do a low level class. He wants to please. He is kind of a brat sometimes when he is being aggressive but otherwise he is very well behaved and has taken to my training very well. He had no training at all when I got him.
