I just got my jasper about a week ago, and the woman who i brought him off said he was used to going toilet in pads with house proud spray, but i want him to go to the toilet outside, ill take him outside for 20 minutes sometimes longer and he just refuses, then ill take him insider and hell go on the carpet straight away, i have also tried the house proud stuff, the pads, and even a litter box and it just doesn'y seem to work!!!!! any advice on how to potty train

Get one of the pads, turn it over so the absorbent side is down, and mop up some of his urine. Take the 'used' pad outside where you want him to 'go' and put some rocks on it so it won't blow away. Take him to this pad every hour or so. Use a word like 'go potty, or 'do your business'. Otherwise he is in a pen, or tethered to you. Do not let him have the run of the house. Can you lock him in the kitchen or room that is not carpeted? Don't let him have an accident. Rugs are much more comfy to go on, 'cause they don't get their paws wet!

Your trying too much at one time and confusing him. I had a pad in my house when I first got Ike and one on my screen porch, he was getting confused as where to go. After about 3 weeks I stopped using the one in the house. Now I take him out to the porch and outside with my other dogs, he is doing much better, still has some accidents in the house but not often , he isn't 4 months old yet.

cool thank you for your advice, i will only use one technique at once! coz its just not working, ill try the taking the used pad outsidde and see if it will work. im crossin my fingers it will, he can just be so stubborn at times!!
