Hello
So we have a new pet. This is all new to us actually. We didn't plan it out that well. We were looking for next year to choose a small dog from an upcoming litter. We got a message about a 6 month old Chihauhau and got a picture. We said we would go and look at him and make a deposit either on him or for a little one from another litter. Well we chose him and we couldn't just leave him there! lol. So we went out yesterday to PetSmart and got him a few things.
He is great! He is eating and going to the washroom outside so that is good. He is obviously well socialized because he is fine around everyone. He does growl a bit around new adults but within minutes he is calm with them. He has never tried to bite though. He is actually really sweet and a big suck.
He is sleepy by around 8 or 9pm and he goes in his little bed and sleeps for the night. We have 6 children under the age of 10 so he is being held a lot. My children are very gentle so no worries there. It is a task to get him walking around the house without someone picking him up though. He definitely prefers to be held. When the kids are eating or sleeping we let him run around more and explore. So after that book! lol that is our story. Now I am researching about Chihauhau's as much as I can. We may do a training class so I can learn how to train him to listen. He doesn't respond to his name (CJ) but does respond to snapping fingers.
So now the research begins!!!!
