Hello, my name is Wendy and I am from Liberal Missouri, which is about 30 miles from Joplin, Missouri. I have one Chi, named Olive who is 11 months old, which brings me to why I joined this forum. She is terribly misbehaved and I need some help, I am at the point of giving up on her and giving her away. I will post her array of problems on the main page. She is so attached to me and I know she will not do good if I rehome her, but we have so much work to do! I hope and pray I can find some answers or good advice here!

I agree. Please share/post about the behavioral issues. There are a number here who have dogs with issues and many of us would be happy to off tips and techniques that worked for us.

Oh where to start. She is a super sweet dog, for sure. I have had her since she was 8 weeks old and she is now 11 months. The main problem with her is her absolute fear of anyone. We have 5 kids and she does good with the 7 of us, but nobody else. We can't travel or anything because she won't let anyone take care of her or walk her. I had board her for a week and she lost half her body weight. We work on housebreaking everyday with no luck. She still just goes wherever. We have been working on staying off the furniture & that is progressing a little. I'm just frustrated and worn out. She is so attached to me that it would break my heart to rehome her, but we do travel sometimes! Chihuahuas are such different dogs!!

She is adorable. She is still a pup. Do you take her outside to potty or use pads?

She uses potty pads in her "apartment" crate (huge crate with one area for pads, one area for sleeping) but we take her outside every time we are home and every couple hours or more as needed. But still she will not go back to her pad and will have accident in the house if we don't watch her like a hawk. She has learned this week to stay off out furniture & doing really well with that. My biggest concern is her fear of people & that she won't eat dog food anymore. I am sure cat food isn't healthy for her, but she is so thin!
