Playing midwife again!
Squiggle went into labour this morning and at this moment has 5 stunning longhaired kittens.
Two black and ginger, one Silver Tabby, and two Ginger. Not sure what sex yet, dont want to stress mum cat out.
Not sure if shes finished yet, as she always has big litters, so she may have a couple more - Vets tomorrow for a checkup on them all and momma cat.
She is not going to be spayed though - The vets ran some blood tests on her, and both our regular vet and both the other local vets agreed that she was too high-risk for spaying - So she is only allowed outside if she is not in season (obviously!).
I'd never heard of it being too risky to spay before, but if three vets agree on it, then it must be the right decision not to have her done. However she will NOT be having more kittens. Shes far too precious to lose! Personally Id prefer she was spayed, but its only a 50% chance she'd even wake up so its not worth the risk!
Pictures coming later!
