Default Anyone else keep snakes?

so I was wondering if my hubby was right and I am the only gal in the world who thinks snakes are cute and cuddly LOL. I had a burmese for the longest time, but rehomed him due to hubby's concerns about the kids safty, and opted for a much smaller Ball Python instead. I'm angling for him to get me a corn snake for christmas. If I had the largest house in the world and unlimited funds I would probably have a zoo though in all honesty lOL.

I don't have a snake but at work we have a mascot (he's actually my sisters) an Reticulated Albino Burmese Python, he weighs over 40# and is humungoid, I don't think he's cute & cuddly as in an instant he could strangle the life out of me, but I do respect him and think he's pretty cool, I don't think I could own one, I do own 2 Chinchillas and an RES Turtle though, I do want a hedgehog to complete my zoo.

I'd be a nervous wreck having a snake with 5-year olds & a chi. I'd always being checking the cage thinking he got out.

I had chinchillas, ferrets and guinea pigs growing up. I want another ferret to complete my zoo around here, although hedgehogs are darn cute too! We are getting a duck in the spring
My hubby was worried about the burmese around our three kids too, which is why he is now living with a friend.. the ball python though is in a 55 gallon custom enclosure with secure locks so I am not worried in the least.. and they dont get anywhere near big enough to do any damage to kids or the chi..

I dont think i would ever like one, but i have held some and they felt silky smooth and actually came towards me when called which i was surprised about.

I am terrified of them. I lived in mortal fear this past summer (first summer we've lived here) of seeing one of the slithery beasts. lol

Snakes skeer me. They are pretty cool to see, though. I'd be afraid if I had one at home it would get loose at night and end up in my bed. I would freak!!!
