While accompanying one of my besties to get her a parakeet, I spotted the 'feeder tank' of rats and fell in love with the oddball, a little blue rex dumbo. Then I realized how foolish it was (ratties NEED company) and went back to get him a buddy a few days later. Put my hand into the tank and Felix crawled on and 'chose' me. They are soo cute and are on their way to becoming very friendly and tame. Most people dont realize how intelligent they are, as smart as a dog and some people say smarter than a 2 year old child. They can learn their names and to come when called, learn tricks, etc... In turn it's kinda devastating since their lifespan is about 2-4 years... can you imagine knowing our chi babies would only live that long?? Oh well... I just know I'll make sure these two boys live out their lives happy and loved.
Aww, Felix is so cute hidihg his face..lol What a great "house" you have set up for them.. they gotta be 2 happy little guys. Our son had one as a pet when he was around 10 or 11, and Frosty was one very smart boy.. used to sit on Clint's book when he was studying for a test or sleep curled up around his neck. They do make good pets when people give them the opportunity. Kudos to you!
