So I'm looking into other dog breeds and I'm loving these 3 breeds. I'd like to know if anyone is familiar with any of these breeds? They are all sight hounds and bred to hunt. And I also have a question, do you think feeding a natural born hunting dog a raw diet would be bad?

I had two Afgans in the past, they are also sight hounds and one thing you need to be careful of is they will run away if given a chance and they are FAST, gone in a flash, they slip out the door before you can stop them and it takes hours to find them and get them back. They are also very aloof, not a cute cuddly dog and diffcult to train. Sorry I don't have any info on feeding them raw. Good Luck, they are beautiful dogs.

Yes, you can feed ANY breed of dog raw. They won't be vicious. They won't go after the family cat or birds. Those are just myths. I LOVE the look of the afghans and the ibizans. Not sure I could take their 'cat-like' personalities though after having a chi!

I too think that afghans are lovely. My husband says no long fur dogs tho. From the research I have done, these breeds are quite aloof. They seem to have a personality much like the shar-pei breed. I actually kind of like a snobby dog. I find them funny. I have a pei so I'm used to that stubborness. These sighthounds seen to have a much for agile body and more inytense exercise requirments. And that I can surely deel with. Now the question is, which one of the 3 breeds is best for me. They are all very much alike. I just need to decide on size. The cirneco Dell Etna is a small breed and the pharao and Ibizan are larger.

I'm sorry I don't know if i'm the only one who see's this but all I could think was "this is wat Bijoux would look like if she were super sized" lol I don't know how I see it since she's an apple head too lol

I love sight hounds but I really hope your ready for the exercise demands of these dogs and lack of recall it's kinda like a beagle or blood hound once the nose is on the ground they tend to have very selective hearing

That is exactly what I said, the pharoah hound is a giant chihuahua! I love the appearance and I've always had large dogs. I'm really leaning toward the Ibizan hound. It will probable be 3 years or so until I actually get one. For now I am doing much research and trying to find a good reputable breeder.
