Default My Dylan

Attachment 6578

This is my big boy Dylan doing his favorite thing in the world, going for a ride in the Jeep. I don't have the words to say how special he is to me.

The first time I saw Dylan I was standing in my old bosses back yard watching him bark at a leaf. He was chained up inside a huge chain link pen I thought it was odd but I didn't say any thing. The next night at work my curiosity got the better of me and I asked my boss why he had him tied up inside a pen and he preceded to tell me that dog was the craziest creature he had ever seen, he barks at every thing, he chews on everything, you can't keep him penned in to save his life, not to mention every time he comes in eye contact with a man he acts like he is going to eat them, and that if he got one more complaint from the neighbors he was taking him to the pound! That surprised me some what because my boss was a very good man who I know loved animals I told him not to do that if he needed a home I would take him. Turns out Dylan actually belonged to his daughter I'm not sure if he felt bad about getting rid of his daughters dog or putting a trouble making dog off on me but every time I asked he would say no. He finally came in one night and said he was taking him to the pound the next morning I said good I know they won't argue with me, they will be more than happy to let me have him but of course he could save me the adoption fee. I WON! he brought Dylan to me the next day of course half way to my house Dylan decided to jump out of the back of the truck..at 40 mph! So we spent our first day together at the vet..lol thankfully he was fine just a mild case of road rash.

5 yrs later he is by far the biggest goof of a dog I have ever had and I love every goofy hair on him! Oh and we still have to chain him up in the fenced in back yard if we leave him home alone outside for more than a few hours lol.

Wow, he's a cutie. What breed is he? I had to rehome a beautiful Akita once. He would NOT listen to me. I was a girl and I was beneath him. He walked THROUGH my chain link fence and wood fence. Nothing I tried would make him obey me. I found him a single guy and they are doing wonderfully. Sometimes, as much as you love an animal, they just are not the right fit.

Thank you! He is a chocolate lab, his original owner said she got him for free cause he was lighter than the others but she was told he was pure lab, I dunno don't much matter but I tell people he is. One time a lady at Petsmart told me in not such a nice tone that she had never seen a "chocolate" lab that light I told her well he's milk chocolate. I totally agree about the right fit. Dogs pick their people just as we pick our dogs my husband loves Dylan and Dylan loves him but and I'm not bragging but he loves me more lol it makes my husband crazy that he can tell Dylan to go lay down a dozen times and he will mope and grumble and all I have to do is point and he goes strait to his bed. I do get a little tired of coming home and hearing about what "MY" dog has done this time...lol

Lol he is the most "talkative" dog I have ever seen he has whole conversations by himself and he argues with the TV! Lol he grumbles all the time, we just talk right along with him.

I only saw him the one time at my boss's place and he was barking at everything, not a mean bark just a "look at me" kinda bark.
