So as some of you know my poor Mr. Miyagi died last week still very sad but he was such a personable fish everyday when I came home from work he would swim to the front of the tank and flare his fins at me happily wiggle around. Since I have been putting so much time and effort into trying to make him better I missed his company never thought I'd cry over a fish dying but I actually balled my eyes out lol. I only get my bettas imported straight from Thailand I do not buy them at a pet store due to small finage limited colours.

So without further adieu here is my new guy I picked up today he was shown at a betta fish show and won 3rd place! On October 31

He's just 4 months old and gorgeous

My show breeder said I shouldn't put him in anything bigger than a 2.5 gallon they live in shallow waters in the wild it's a lot of work for them to swim that far to the top for air as they like laying in the bottom of the tank. As a single fish that is obviously bigger if you have them in with other fish.

I took out 3/4 of the rocks I had on the bottom so it's easier to clean and put in a new filter I'm letting the tank cycle over night before I put him into the tank

No name yet. Not sure what to pick my bf says avatar but I think it's blah and old Doesn't suit him at all he's more turquoise and they call it mustard

Wow! He's gorgeous! I didn't know you could get one from a Breeder. My Betta passed
away recently. (I cried too) Such a disappointment since I just got him last November
I think I need to learn more before I get another so that I can help it to live longer.

Therese I never knew taking care of 1 Fish could be so much work lol!

Basically I learned yes they are happy in bowls as long as you do 100% water change every 3 days minimum if you want to cut water changes down you can stick them in a small tank with a filter but you have to still do 100% water changes every week I was only doing 100% every month and vacuuming once a week. Is not enough though they need clean water to survive I plan on trying to get him to live to his maximum of 5 years lol! They can live that long! As long as they eat proper food and have clean water. Mine is very tiny you can't tell from the pics his size he's probably about 1 inch in length just a baby at 4 months!

I never knew people showed fish for prize $ either lol
