lost a great friend today
Hi everyone
My uncle lives across the road from me and for the past almost two weeks we have been up all night with worry
(so apologies to anyone waiting on replies from me or anything)
His beloved boxer dog passed this morning
it started with a swelling of one of his eyes..
we brought him to a vet who gave him antibiotics and eye washes and creams that had to be cleaned and washed every two hours..he was also on painkillers..
That was fine after a day the swelling went down and he looked alot better..we has to do this for almost a week
we brought him back because first he was acting much better then acting sad again so brought him back to the vet who looked at both eyes and said he had gone blind in both eyes and asked if we would like to put him to sleep which sounded ridiculous.. I mean we thought ok so he is blind but hes a young healthy dog he will get through it...
But as the days went on of us walking him teaching him how to go up and down steps while walking him he was picking it up really quickly..
He stopped eating then and we tried to get all his fav foods like mince and sausages but he had no interest..so we brought himback to the vet who then said it sounded like leukemia.He gave us food for him electrolytes to rehydrate his body and we had to feed him food and water by hand little bits at a time every hour..the vet said come back in monday and he would take blood and send it away...
The very next day we decided to take him to another vet...(my vet) it was sunday so i had to ring his home number ..who met us at the clinic asap
who immediately tried to put him on a drip but it took almost two hours to find a vain...the vet said he was in a trance...he took some blood and tested it his blood count was normal..(so the other vet was wrong)he said to him it sounds like a brain tumor...he said he would stay with him all day and look after him...last night he rang to say he wasnt doing so well...phone call this morning just before we had left to say he had passed during the night..that he had had fits and that it was his brain shutting down..
We picked him up and brought him home buried him in the garden in his bed on his pillow wrapped up all cosy...

Id just like to ask if everyone could pray for my uncle today...he was an amazing dog and he was my uncles best friend ..he cant stop crying he keeps expecting him to walk through the door and into the room....
anyone have any advise he was spoiled rotten and walked for miles every single day rain hail or snow...xxxxxxxxx
