So he IS peeing on the pad in the pen then? Can he get back in the pen to pee once he's taken out? If his health checks out, I would guess that he's probably just getting comfortable and is still so excited when he gets taken out that he pees.

He is going to be pee pad trained so I am not going to be taking him outside for anything besides playing, walking, hanging out. His pen is right there by him when he goes and yes inside his pee area is separate from his bed area. he IS using the pad (and I praise him) as well, but every time I take him out, he's also going randomly. Just little pees here and there. Eh..The pen is accessible to him once he's out. LIke I said, everything is within an arms reach.

How can I socialize him well here in Japan? I mean, there aren't any "petco" or "petsmart". There is a dog park, which no one ever goes to, and it's really cold out. Too cold for a 12 week old puppy in my opinion. I've tried searching for friends on the American forums for the city, no one is interested in a play date. It was so much easier in the states with Miya...

I would just continue putting him on the pee pad right after he pees somewhere he's not supposed to. Hopefully he's still adjusting and will start "getting" it soon. Are there any stores that aren't pet stores that you'd be allowed to bring him in, so he could get used to different people?

there is an equivalent of "home depot", but multiply the amount of people by 500. It's slammed pack, very busy. But it will have to work I guess. I've taken Miya there a few times.

Domo and I are headed to the vet now. I have to drive 40 minutes to get there and they are Japanese. So between my non existent Japanese and their broken English, this is gonna be fun. Japan is becoming inconvenient in more ways than one.

I feel like its excitement pee if he does already use his pee pad. The Japanese love to spoil small dogs and if you could go there is a pet store called "pet paradise" that has mega cute things if you wanted to take him there for socilization. I think its in Tokyo not sure where you are in Japan.

Pet paradise sounds awesome! Maybe when he's a little bigger we can venture up there with Miya and Domo!! Tokyo is about 2.5 hours from me.

Could you guys tell I ran out of patience earlier? I'm just finding that I have to change a lot of things being here, obviously. Like hanging my clothes to dry instead of a dryer. I am a spoiled American and I want my dryer! lol...and the A/C and heat are not central, yada yada yada I could go on. I like it here, just sometimes lose my cool!

Okay so back from the vet..Weighing in at 650g or in my terms, a whopping 1.4 pounds!!! dun dun dun (Miya and he are wrestling and she's sitting on him hehehehe) He's perfectly healthy, phew. Doc said the peeing thing is probably him adjusting. He suggested that we keep him in his playpen without taking him out at all for a few days..which, I'm not gona do that because I want him to play and run, so..I'll just have to line the house with pee pads I reckon. Still, very excited to hear he is healthy.
