One of our old foster dogs has come back to us. We found her what seemed like a good home last year. They took her to the pound again today. Abandoned her. After a whole year.

This is not the same dog as before. The dog I took care of last year was a bouncy, happy, albeit very stubborn young lady.

The dog in my house now is so afraid that she will not even sniff my hand. She growls at any approach. She has urinated at least 2 times on the floor in fear.

This is not okay. It breaks my heart. I don't know what to do. She's barely a shadow of her normal self. They broke her. And then abandoned her.

This is her last year-



She is not neglected...she has been fed.. looks healthy..
but her eyes tell a different story and I am so sad for her.

Poor little girl. This breaks my heart just to read it, I can't imagine how painful it must be to see in person. How did you find out they had taken her to the pound?

We were her foster parents before, so they called us.

It's taken two hours to get her calm enough to chew a bully stick. I still can't get near her, she's tied up a few feet away from me. Douglas is tied up out of her reach.

She growls when you try to get close. So sad..

Oh how heartbreaking! Thank goodness she is now in a place where she can begin healing emotionally. How people like that can even live with themselves is beyond me!

Me too..she is a terrier/shepherd mix I think. Distrustful and very impulsive, not the best combo but when we had her before she was a very nice dog. Perhaps the upheaval is just too much..maybe with a few days she can settle in.

Ill be thinking and praying for you as you work with to get her trust! Poor thing!

Maybe they were trying to train her using forceful methods. Poor little girl. I'm sure this can be overcome with a lot of time and effort, I think most things can. I hope you are ok - I'd feel so angry and let down. I don't know how they can treat a dog like that and then abandon her to a place they know she'll probably end up dead. The don't deserve pets. I hope you can work with her.
