I woke up this morning and did my usual routine of giving Stinky a treat and some Linatone and noticed my sweet ferret had passed. I've had him for 8 years (unusual for a ferret). I knew the time was coming as he had stopped using his litterbox and was beginning to weaken. He had passed sometime during the night, hopefully in his sleep. I hope he didn't suffer.

He was the BEST ferret I could have ever had. He never bit once, was very gentle, loved bubble baths and always enjoyed coming out of his cage to play with Zeus, the cats, and my daughter.

Rest in peace, Stinky. You will be missed.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I too hope he died in his sleep without any pain or fear. He sounds like he was a lovely little boy.

Thank you all. I finally got around to washing his cage. I just found out their is a ferret shelter about 30 minutes from here. Maybe after the holidays if I can convince my husband, I'll adopt another one. They are such fun pets. They have the personality of a cat. They are very curious. Stinky Winky had several ferret toys, but his favorite toy was an empty soda can. He tossed it around like a ball.

My husband buried him for me in our back yard. When our screened in porch is done being built, I'm going to plant a flower near him.
