Last month, I lost Tiko. To jog your memory, Tiko was found outside in my bushes after being thrown out of a car. He was in horrible shape, filthy, long nails, roach backed, rickets, blind in one eye, dry eye in the other, bilateral luxating patellas, numerous scars from living in a cage probably all his life, 4 1/2 pound little grouchy 11 to 13 year old boy. The vet when I brought him in told me to take him home and love him, he wouldn't last long. Well, he lasted almost 5 years before his heart finally gave out. He had a heart murmur and congested heart failure and eventually went completely blind. But he was my tough old man and I miss him terribly. I'm still listening for the bell on his collar and looking for him to take to bed at night.
