Be at rest Layla
I brought Layla's cremains home lat Thursday and am planning on getting a small wooden memorial with frame for a pic. She was the cutest little thing I had ever seen, truly a very special little girl. WE only had a week together but it was a time full of memories and taught me alot about being a mommy to her and caring.
I got Layla on Dec 28th - she was a very light fawn with white and silverblue highlights - a true teacup, very small, 9 weeks old. She saw the vet two days later and all seemed well. Then the next day, in the afternoon, she stopped eating regularly and wanted to sleep all the time. I took her to my vet on New Year's Eve and her temp, glucose and weight were all normal. She still wasn't eating so I was sent home with a special canned food that I had to basically force feed to her.
Friday, New Year's, everything went south. I was feeding her about every two hours and went to feed her at 8:20p and she was totally limp, almost comatose. And cold. I rushed her to the 24hr hospital, and she was diagnosed with Parvo - still not sure where or when she got it. Saturday I transferred her to my vet, and she seemed to be stabilizing a bit. Sadly, she passed away early Monday morning, the 4th.
The breeder gave me Lola. Lola cannot replace Layla, but I love her so much now. But it still hurts, I never thought I could love a puppy so much, and it feels as though I had twins and one passed.
