Poem for Lucy
My poor baby who died after an RTA on 29.12.06
RIP lucy you touched our hearts
To Lucy from your Grandma
She was only a dog - a chihuahua at that
Too small for a dog - too big for a cat
She was naughty, and good disobedient and true
"Do you want to go out?" - Like a rocket she flew
To the door and away - then under the shed
Where the hedgehogs lay still - in their hideaway bed
Here and there in the flowers she pottered around
Chased the birds - barked at all who invaded her ground
"Come in, now please Lucy" and sometimes she would
But often she waited - just to show that she could
Then danced at the window " Let me in !!! " tap tap tap
Then straight through the door and up on your lap
Hey eyes would adore you and gently implore
To be stroked, hugged or patted - she asked nothing more
We gave her a good life of caring and love
She gave us much joy, and we know up above
She'll be watching and waiting
for someone to shout
"ok then, dear lucy do you want to go out?"
