Our 15 year old greyhound, Roxie, passed away peacefully on our back porch late yesterday afternoon, with Dee Dee, her companion of 7 years, by her side. While not totally unexpected, it's still very sad.

Roxie and Dee Dee were both racetrack rescues we adopted when we first moved into our house. Roxie was an incredible racer and had lived with her trainer till he passed away; then we had the privilege of giving her a forever home. She had a wonderful sense of humor and definitely was always her own dog. She worshipped my husband (both hounds do, really) and brought much love and laughter to our lives. Dee Dee is sad but our German shepherd, Maddie, is doing her best to comfort her.

Good bye, Mouse. We will all see you again someday on the other side of the Bridge. We love you.
