i cant find organ meat around here. i can get beef liver buy no spleen or kidney and no green tripe. Even tried the slaughter house. Has anyone shopped on line at " mypetcarnivore" or one of the other places?

I have heard GREAT things about mypetcarnivore. I have ordered several times from hare-today.com and they have excellent products. The shipping is the killer.

I also ordered from rodentpro.com and they had a great selection of whole prey items. That wasn't something I would do again though.

thanks tracy, i bought from hare-today. the other place would not deliver to me. to far i guess. i got beef kidney, bird feet, small meat bones and beef gullet.

well i got chili's stuff from hare today and the stinker will not eat most of it. he wont touch the kidney and spits the gullet out. he did eat a bird foot. didnt try him on the meaty bones but he will eat store bought bones so hopfully he will chew these.
i even tried cooking the kidney but still wont eat it.

Hmmmm.... well there are several tricks you can try with the kidney. Remember he just needs a couple bites a week, so don't stress too much. Organs are only 10% of the diet and half of that is liver.

You could dehydrate it in the oven until its crunchy.

Sear in a hot pan with a bit of butter and garlic.

Freeze and try it that way, some dogs don't like the texture.

Squish it up or dice it and then mix with hamburger and make a little meatball.

Liquify in a blender and then mix with something he likes.

Dice it tiny and mix with canned food.

Smear with parmesan cheese or peanut butter.

Slice into paper thin pieces and hide it under the skin of a cornish hen chunk.

There's lots of little tricks to get them to eat their organs. If worse comes to worse, you can just pill them with it. Not my favorite but I know some raw fed dogs who absolutely just will NOT eat it, so their owners pill them with their organs once a week.

thanks tracy i will try some of your sugestions. i was on the verge of throwing it all away.

got another question....im thinking he should be getting 1oz of liver and 1oz of other organ meat per week. he is 4.75lbs. is that about right?
