Question Getting picky on raw, need opinions

Well, I been feeding Star prey model raw for a month, and she seems like she's getting more pickier!

Now she eats once a day (sometimes just a few bites for the meal) because she is so picky and stubborn but the good news is that she's not losing any weight but I'm worry about her getting enough nutrients. I would offer it to her and she reuses to eat for 15-20 min, I would just put it back in the fridge. I would keep giving little portions of organs with her meat til her organ servings it is all gone, but this past week took more than a week to eat all her organs. She's also getting picky on her meat, wont eat beef rib meat and wont eat meat if the same meat is eaten the day before.

What I'm worried about is just the nutrients, am I giving her enough organs if her servings takes more than a week to eat? Or is it best to go back to her original diet...zp for lunch and raw for dinner?

I am curious what is zp. If it is kibble you cannot mix the to. they digest st different speeds so it will cause issues. I am surprised you could move so fast through the proteins and are beef after a month. If it is the organs she does not care for don't even worry about those. I did not even attempt them until Lola was on raw for two months a year and a half later I cannot get her to eat them. What I did with Lola is if she refused to eat I would just put it away until the next meal. Maybe start at the basics with chicken wings. Sometimes I would sear and I mean for just a few seconds the meat in a pan so the meat would smell. With my other dogs I would I tough love and just let them go without eating but with the hypoglycemia risk we can't do that with chihuahuas. Maybe she is having stomach issues from moving so fast. We did not do beef until 3-4 months into raw. Check out the dog food forum they have a raw food section and the people there are really helpful.

Do you not feed organ at all? Ziwipeak is an air dried raw food, not a kibble.

Just wanted to clarify a few things.

As Krystal said, ZP is air dried raw and not kibble.

Even if it was a kibble, it is only a myth that one cannot feed raw and kibble. I do it, and so do several other members on here.

Also, organ meat is essential to a healthy PMR diet. It needs to be approximately 90% muscle meat, 10% bone and 10% organ. And I don't think that one month is too fast to add a second protein as long as the dog is digesting well and there's no tummy upset.

Angie, I'm sorry you're having difficulty getting her to eat. If you absolutely can't get her to eat things like organ or a balanced diet, I would replace some meals with ZP so that you know she is getting everything she needs. I think that the 90-10-10 ratio is over time so as long as she eats the organ and isn't being deprived of it, she's okay. If you are worried, maybe just replace 3 or so meals a week with ZP for your own piece of mind.

It is not a myth. Kibble and raw digest at very different rates so it causes digestion issues. There are many people who struggle with organ meat no need to panic about it. I sear it a bit for Lola. I have spoken to many people go on dig forum you will hear the same info on feeding kibble and raw. These people have been doing it far longer than I have. My vet who does not support a raw diet even stressed the fact that kibble and raw should never be mixed. I am not trying to start anything but the two should not be mixed. I don't know how to cut and paste but go to dog food forum dome of these people have been at it for 20 plus years that is my bible site for raw feeding.
Beef is an extremely rich protein it usually goes chicken turkey pork duck beef is generally last . Usually chicken is done the first three weeks the the rest every three weeks. It may not have anything to do with why her dog is having issues I just know the advice I was given so I figured I would offer it. I am new to it only 18 months but these people are pretty hard core and experienced with the whole prey diet. Check out he website it has a ton of info

Check out preymodelraw.com. I will sear Lola's for a few seconds but again it is over time usually organs are introduced after 2 months so I would not worry to much yet just get a few proteins under her belt.
