Default Siggy size problem

My siggy always seem so small cause i resize it at photobucket to medium.
Can anyone tell me how to get a halfway decent size there?
The size it uploads is maybe too big, at least i think, but medium is too small and that is the next size down.
When i go into other options and try to put in 500 x 200 it wont change for me.

Let me know what you all do.
Cheers.

im not sure as i dont really use photobucket to edit but its probably because of the proportions it wont resize to 500 x 200

if your making your siggy in photobucket probably the best thing to do once you have selected you photo is it to go into the resize option and where it gives you the opportunity to enter the length and height is set the length at 200 and tick keep proportions - it wont necesserily make the height 500 most probably less but unless you are editing a rectangular picture it wont be easy to get the exact size using this method - if you want me to have a go at resizing a pic for you just post it here or pm it to me

Thanks for the response.
I tried what you said but it didnt change anything on the pic.
I even managed to add the 500 x200 in the boxes without one of them changing on me, but when i hit apply it did nothing, lol
Here is a pic to see if i am doing something wrong, most likley.
If it doesnt work it's cool, can still see my siggy as is. ha!

i think it must be to do with the original shape of the pic - normally when i make a siggy i start with a blank 500 x 200 rectangle and copy and paste pics onto it

have tried resizing the pic with varying results

this is cropped a bit with 200 pixel height

and this is cropped and sized to 500 x 200 but as u can see it doesnt constrain the proportions and is stretched to get the length and height
