I kinda think of the "thanks" button as a like button.

I think the two separate buttons would be a cool idea.

If we had a like button with the thanks button ,people wouldn't bother to write anything and i think it's the easy way out and would make the site boring.

I wanted to chime in to the other side of this I would dislike a like button haha. On facebook, when people like my status or whatever..I find it annoying!! Why do I need to be notified if someone likes something? I feel it's not needed. Just my thoughts. I would agree that the thanks button is similar to a like button. I vote no on the like button. Michele couldn't have said it any better. THe site would be boring because people wouldn't take time to write their thoughts. I think that's what I dislike about the like button on facebook. No one ever says anything, just like like like like...arggggg! BORING
