Oh, this is a fantastic thread. I love cooking. Robbie, I have that exact cookbook (Fix it and forget it). I love it. I use it all winter long. You and Lin have some great recipes on here. I am going to have to try some of these. I've never seen this thread!!! My kids will love that cheeseburger casserole. I, personally don't like ground meat much so recipes that call for it, sometimes I'll make part with it (for family) and the other part without it and it's still yummy. Often turns recipes into vegetarian also. Thanks guys!!!

How funny Tracy. Andrew is the same way. I tell him over and over again, don't open the oven door if possible. You absolutely cannot open the lid on the crock pot, it really slows down the effect of the cooking. Think he can walk by and not look? Heck no. He's worse than the children!!!

That cake looks yum.. just leave out raisins.

Cheesy Bread
* 3 cups all-purpose flour
* 4 teaspoons baking powder
* 1/2 teaspoon salt
* 1 1/2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese (or whatever..not American 'cheese' though)
* 1 1/2 cups milk
* 2 tablespoons butter, melted

DIRECTIONS

1. Preheat an oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Grease a loaf pan.
2. Stir together flour, baking powder, salt, and cheese in a large bowl. Mix in milk and melted butter. Stir to form a soft dough. Spoon dough into prepared pan.
3. Bake in preheated oven, until a toothpick inserted in the center of the loaf comes out clean, about 34 to 40 minutes. Remove from pan to cool.

[QUOTE=rhaubejoi;448055]Magic meatloaf (near as I remember)
this requires a crock pot. I love crock pots because 10 mins of prep in the morning means NO MORE COOKING FOR THE DAY FOR ME!

3 lbs ground meat
1 onion, chopped
1/8 tsp season salt
1/8 tsp pepper
1 egg
1 cup bread or cracker crumbs
few shake worchestershire sauce
3 potatoes (your preference) cut into chunks
3 carrots cut into 1 inch chunks

spread carrots and potatoes on bottom of crock pot. Season as you like.

combine other ingredients together and form mound over top of carrots and potatoes. cook on low for 8 hours.
If you like, in last hour you can pour some ketchup or heinz 57 over top.[/QUim going to to this your way to morrow sounds yummy
thanks
