I thought I'd pop in and post to let everyone know that Cooper had his knee surgery on Thursday.
The surgery went very well and there were no problems!! Thursday night, he was having a lot of pain, so I took him to the emergency room and they gave him an injection and prescribed some "better" pain meds than what the vet had given me and that helped him get through the night.
It's now Sunday and he's doing fantastic. He's using the leg and walking around as if nothing happened. I can't tell you how happy I am that he's doing well and how happy he will be once he's fully recovered from the surgery and able to go out on the hike & bike trails again!
We'd like to extend another thank you to those that donated to Cooper's surgery fund. Your help was a huge weight off my shoulders, knowing I wouldn't have to wait for the surgery and we could get it behind us sooner than later.
I actually have $150 left over from Cooper's surgery fund (that even includes the trip to the ER) and our SPCA is running low on food donations for doggies and kitties. So I am going to go buy $150 worth of dog and cat food (and a few toys) tomorrow and take it down there. I thought you would all want to know that it's not just Cooper that's benefiting from your kindness, but a lot of other critters as well.
Originally, I was going to donate it to Chi Rescue in San Antonio, but since I work directly with the SPCA here AND they helped when OmaKitty was rescued, I thought it would be fitting if we helped feed the homeless babies there.
I know I've said "thank you" a million times but I'd like to say it again... even those that weren't able to donate - just the fact that you all cared enough to worry about us is touching and Cooper and I both thank you!! (OmaKitty, too but she doesn't want y'all to think she's "soft".)
Okay... I just wanted to drop in with an update.
Oh... and here's a pic of Cooper from Friday afternoon. He hadn't come out of the pain medication haze he was in but you can see he is using the leg and doing really well!
