Default Can't decide on a working bag... opinions?

My little man is destined to be a working Service Dog. While MOST of the time he'll be working from the floor in public, there are times that I will have him in a "working" bag for his own safety. He's going to top out at under 5lbs, I just cannot imagine working him from the floor in very large crowds of people where he could be trampled or injured by people, carts, etc. This isn't a training issue, my dog will be sound, it's a safety issue. I know some people flip out at the idea of a SD in a bag and that they must be "fakers" if they're in bags, etc. Some of the things I've heard people say in the Service Dog community in the over 15 years I've been in it can be horribly judgmental. I'm putting out there that this is not a debate about SD's or small/toy SD's and whether of not they should or should not work from bags, etc. I'm posting because I'd like opinion on which bag I should get from a community of people that might have used these products on their own dogs...

Ok, so, I'm stuck between the Fundle in the Classic Black:

Fundle® Pet Sling | Dog and Cat Carrier | Pet Car Seat and Travel Bag | "Classics" Order page -Gramercypet.com

or this messenger style bag on Etsy that I've been eyeing for some time, also in Black:

https://www.etsy.com/listing/236933466/messenger-bag

No matter which I go with, I'll have my Service Dog patches sewn on, etc. So it'll look nice and professional.

I like that the Messenger bag has external pockets, one on the back, and one on the strap for my phone, meds, etc. I only see the option for a add on velcro pocket for the Fundle? Can anyone here who owns that tell me if there are any other pockets or anything? Or how comfortable it is?
I don't suppose there is anyone here who owns that Messenger bag by some chance, huh?

Would love any thoughts or opinions, maybe you know of another bag that might fit my needs? (Simple and clean looking, no frills, can have patches sewn on, and is worn cross body style) If so, please speak up! I'm not well versed in web shopping for small dog products.

Thanks!

I like the messenger bag for your needs. It's simple and functional.

When Koda comes with me I usually bring a bag for him. He's only 2.5 pounds and I worry a lot about him getting stepped on, so he's up in my arms or tucked in his bag. However, I use a purse type bag as I like for him to go "invisible" sometimes. It's obnoxious how many questions I get about him and people wanting to touch him.

We use bags quite often and I'm afraid it's been trial and error to see what's comfy for each. One bag that looks like it would be the most comfy actually makes Mickey's legs hurt. I think both of your choices look quite serious and professional. Don't worry about being judged on this site, never heard anyone here who didn't believe chis can be great service dogs. Good luck. I would love to hear about your journey.

I am strictly in the four on the floor camp as far as SDs. I work a 5 lb dog.

I would pick the fundle if I had to pick, however. It looks nice, and functional.

I knew you would be Moon, I've read many of your replies on the forum about SD's I appreciate the feedback from another SD team. I don't advocate working dogs from bags normally. I just think it could be a good option to have available.

I'm a picky handler!

I do really like that bag though. I am considering one for my pet dog. It's nice.
