Default sharp nails and nipping????

OMG Prissy Poo has the sharpest nails and her nipping is terrible! Do we have a puppy section and what do I do? Can I clip her nails now and what to do about her nipping? Poor Peanut seems to get the worst of it. As she sits here and looks at me with those sweet eyes! Gah

Do you have a cat nail clipper? I use that for one of my chi's. I also use a dremel on the bigger chi.'s. I would definately clip those nails now. As for the nipping, I would hope the older chi would correct her. When she does it to you, put her in her pen/crate or leave the room for a minute. Say "no bite" put her down (if she is 'up') and leave. Or put her away for a minute. Much longer and she won't connect.

No I am allergic to cats and I take peanut to get his nails clipped as they are black and I dont want to hurt him. What about a spray bottle for the nipping. My poor Peanut will not reprimand her at all..he just gets up to where she cant get him LOL

Clip the nails ASAP.
Nipping is normal puppy play, i am guessing the puppy is very young? The mum will teach bite inhibition, but if the pup is taken away too young then you have to teach the pup. Do not use aversives or punishments, she is not being naughty, just being a puppy. When she nips, distract her with a toy she is allowed to bite.

Don't allow her to make contact with your skin, ever. Chewing human hands can quickly become a habit, so keep her busy with things she is allowed to chew. She will grow out of it lol. Do a search of the site, there are loads of threads on this subject
